Credent Exports has its own plant in Coimbatore, where pressing, drying and packing are carried out under a single roof. Being a lean, focused export business, we have consciously maintained the operation to one raw material and one production line — coconut shell charcoal briquettes — instead of distributing capacity over many products or subcontractors.

Such an arrangement implies that the same group in charge of production is in charge of quality checks, packing and export documentation, and that there is no handoff between different departments or facilities that may bring about inconsistency. Being a smaller, founder-led operation allows decisions on specification, scheduling and shipment to be made fast, without approval levels bogging down the order of a buyer.

As the business expands, capacity is being scaled as it has been since the beginning: one specification, strictly managed, as opposed to the product lines that would blur the single-focus model the company was founded on.
