Charcoal Briquettes

Charcoal briquettes combine carbon-rich material with binding agents that hold everything together and keep combustion efficient. The core ingredient is charcoal dust or fines a by-product left over from charcoal production elsewhere. To bind those fine particles into something solid, manufacturers add natural binders like starch, molasses, or clay. Sometimes natural additives get folded in too sawdust, coconut shell powder, other biomass residues to improve burn characteristics, boost calorific value, or cut emissions. Which raw materials get used, and in what ratio, ends up shaping the briquette's quality, burn time, and overall performance more than almost anything else.

How They're Actually Made

The process is broken down into a number of controlled steps to ensure consistency from batch to batch. The raw materials are gathered, washed and crushed to a consistent size. The charcoal dust is then admixed with a binder, water and mixed to ensure a uniform mixture which is then fed into the briquetting machines and compressed at high pressure into the desired shape (pillow, cylindrical or hexagonal depending on the application). After being formed, the briquettes are dried to eliminate excess water, which is a briquette combustion enemy, cooled, quality tested and packed. Each and every step in that chain has to be there for a reason — it's what makes the consistent heat, long burn and minimal smoke that briquettes are famous for.

Best Fit

Where Hexagonal Briquettes Are Used

The long flat heat curve suits any operation where a single load has to cover a full session.

BBQ & Grilling

The premium retail choice. Longest burn is the claim that justifies a higher shelf price against ordinary briquettes.

HORECA Supply

A full dinner service on one load. Standard for Josper, kamado and open charcoal grills where nobody should be refuelling mid-service.

Industrial fuel

Uniform dimensions give a repeatable charge weight and predictable airflow through the bed, which suits continuous operation.

Sustainably Crafted
